About Pathshala

Shri Vidyamrut Varshini Pathshala is an institution at Valsad district of Gujarat (IN), providing its services in the Sanskrit language for the past 110 years. The pathshala played a major role in enduring Sanskrit language along with the humanitarian work till date since the day it was formed. Lt. Shri Narayanbhai Joshi, who was a strict Gandhian and devoted as a worker to the society, established the pathshala with the purpose to spread the awareness on the importance of Sanskrit language and Hindu culture at large.

Since the inception, the pathshala has been registered under a trust and also has a certificate of 80G and is also audited every year. In the context of the name of the organization, the services of the organization are also dedicated to the benefits of the people. Here, studies and activities are nectar for the students.

As the time passed by and on this day, the President of the Institute is Dr.Shri Nareshbhai Bhatt. He has also been awarded “The Yajurveda Pandit Award” by the Government of India, Sahitya Academy, Gujarat.

Institution’s take on Sanskrit language

Sanskrit language is the oldest language in the world. The origin of Indian culture and rites is the Vedic literature. Learning Sanskrit language develops the mind of human body very fast, and since Adi and Pradhan are the causes of education, it is necessary for the advancement of education and especially for the propagation of Sanskrit, the mother tongue of Aryans, among the masses.

In a research on language, NASA has proved that Sanskrit is the most scientific language to send a message in space. It is a language in which the words are written exactly in the manner they are spoken or thought of. If talking computers become a reality in the future, Sanskrit would be the most useful language for them.

For the benefit of the readers in the library of this institute, the institute has provided the facilities of furniture equipment and chair table and bench for seating arrangement for the reader.

The institute also has well-equipped drinking water and sanitation facility.

History

Shri Vidyamrut Varshini Pathshala was founded in 1910 by Lt. Shri Narayanbhai Joshi in Valsad by taking only 1 rupee from each house as donation for the pious work. The purpose to establish the pathshala was to promote Sanskrit language and Hindu culture in the society at large. The pathshala has been a public institution and up for the civil aid.

The first Sanskrit and ritual classes were started at the institution with an arrangement of the accommodation and meals for each student with the cooperation of local people. A library was also started at the institute at free of cost, in which, till this day, anyone can use it without any discrimination. To this day, many writers and scholars also visit the pathshala to comprehend and execute the researches on various topics.

Furthermore, a golden feather was studded when Lt. Gandhiji and Kasturba bai came to the institute and praised us for our impeccable services for which we will always be obliged.
